On Saturday 5 March 2010 at 5.07am Calum's plane landed at Heathrow.

Joe, Lola and I breathed a collective sigh of relief that he was safely back in the UK after a 23 hour journey
and a six month stay in Australia.

Knowing that we would be seeing him in a matter of minutes helped us shrug off the tiredness we all felt, having had no sleep because of a 2.00am drive down to Heathrow. We wanted to make sure we were there to meet him and there was no way we were going to be late.

We also knew that the M25 was busy at any time of day or night so we took no chances and allowed an extra hour. As a result we were parked by 4.00am and had an hour to wander round Terminal 3 and grab a coffee at the only Costa that was open at such an unearthly hour.

Seeing Calum walk through Arrivals was one of the best moments of my life. My stomach was full of butterflies and I was finding it impossible to contain my excitement. Lola, who until the last moment had been amazingly calm, ran up to Calum and threw his arms around her neck in a 'Love Actually' moment. It brought a lump to my throat. I held up a 'Welcome Home' sign whih was very cheesy but it made him smile and also ran up to him and gave him a big hug.

The first thing I noticed was his fantastic tan - and the fact that he needed a haircut. He'd joked about coming back to the UK with a 'fro' but he hadn't gone that far.

Calum was pleased to see Joe as well and beamed at all of us, even though he was extremely tired.

After hugging each other and taking lots of photos, we went to a cafe called 'Bite' where we had breakfast and talked non-stop. I just kept looking at Calum as if I couldn't quite believe he was there. His voice seemed deeper and he looked as if he had more muscle. He'd definitely grown up.

A boy had gone to Australia and a man had returned.

But he was still the same Calum and it was wonderful to have him home.
